The Belagavi police on Monday rescued a 17-year-old girl from Azam Nagar in Belagavi, who was kidnapped and allegedly raped for two months by three persons.

According to The Times of India, Gopal Punappa Parawadkar, Ashok Balram Naik and Ramesh Mallikarjun Chougala have been arrested and booked under Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO).

The girl, who is a native of Nagaruda village went missing on June 20.

Deccan Chronicle reports that the duo kidnapped her on the pretext of taking her to her father.

Gopal and Ashok reportedly kidnapped her, kept her in a forest for two days and raped her.

The duo took the girl to Belagavi city two days later, where they sold her to Ramesh. She was kept in captivity at Ramesh’s home and raped by him.

Reports say that the police traced the girl from the call records of Gopal and Ashok.
