The News Minute | December 23, 2014 | 8.38 pm IST Speaker of the Legislative Assembly Kagodu Thimmappa on Monday said that he had received a proposal from the government which sought a hike in the salary of its legislators, reported Deccan Herald. “A round discussion was held on the issue. The government may introduce a bill in this regard in the Joint Session of the Legislature,” the newspaper quoted him. In the recently concluded Winter session held in Belagavi, the legislators had demanded an increase in their salaries to the extent of doubling it. Their salary was last given a raise in 2011.
