Karnataka is one of the few states where the grand old party, the Indian National Congress, is still in power. The Congress led by CM Siddaramaiah faces a mammoth task of being re-elected, which no party has been able to accomplish since 1983. For the BJP, it’s the gateway for the party’s dominance in south India.
