A BJP MLC from Karnataka is in the dock for posting obscene photographs on a Whatsapp group.
According to a report in Deccan Herald, the Belagavi MLC Mahantesh Kavatagimath posted at least 50 PDF files that contained nude photos of women on the Belagavi Media Force WhatsApp group, of which politicians, senior police officials and representatives of the media are members.
MLC Mahantesh Kavatagimath posted the messages from his official phone at around 4.20pm, the report says. While the MLC switched off his phone and remained incommunicado probably after realizing the blunder, many of the group members including the group admins is said to have quit the group. But not before condemning the MLC's action.
The Times of India reports that group administrator Mahaboob Makandar immediately removed the MLC from the group.
“I don't know how the pictures were posted. But I immediately removed him from the group,” he told TOI.
Director of KLE Society, MLC Mahantesh Kavatagimath was known to be a "decent politician," the group administrator opined.
Earlier last year, Congress Minister Tanveer Sait was in soup after he was "caught" viewing photos of semi-nude women on his cell phone during a public event.
