Three days after actor Kamal Haasan finally confirmed that he was considering the thought of launching his own political party, Tamilaruvi Manian of the Gandhiya Makkal Iyakkam has said that both Kamal Haasan and Rajinikanth must join hands.

Addressing the media, Tamilaruvi on Sunday, said, “It will be good if Kamal Haasan works with Rajinikanth. If everyone has different parties and different flags, it will only create a possibility of Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam coming back to power. Rajinikanth is saying that system has failed and Kamal Haasan on the other hand is saying that I spoke about the failing system before Rajinikanth did; they both have the same goal. What is the reason behind the system failing for the last 50 years? The answer is the two Dravidian parties. So, for a change from the two Dravidian parties, Kamal Haasan should join hands with Rajinikanth.”

Nearly a month ago, at a meeting held at the Uzhavar Sandhai ground in Trichy, Tamilaruvi Manian had made a declaration that the entry of Rajinikanth into politics would happen 'very soon'.

“The countdown has begun, very soon the big day will come,” said Tamilaruvi Manian. He also challenged the present government by saying, “The countdown for the present government starts from this moment."

On Thursday, Kamal Haasan had said, “Yes, I am thinking on those lines, not out of choice but compulsion. Which existent political party can provide me with a platform or an ideology that will match my reformatory goals in politics?” he told The Quint.

Earlier, denying that he was joining any existing political party, Kamal distanced himself from media reports that he was affiliated with any party. “A political party is about an ideology. And I don’t think my goals in politics can match the ideology of any political party,” he had said.

On Friday, however, when Kamal Haasan was asked if he would invite Rajinikanth to the party he was planning to launch, Kamal said it was not difficult for him to discuss politics with him. "I will talk to him like I talk to you. I will talk to everybody."

However, political analysts believe that Kamal Haasan has been very vocal about many public issues ranging from jallikattu, NEET to Sasikala’s leadership, whereas Rajinikanth soft pedals with the BJP.
