Reports say a release for Rajnikanth starrer ‘Kabali’ has been announced and could be slated for May 20. Directed by Pa Ranjith, Kabali is said to be a gangster flick in which Super Star Rajinikanth is playing an old don and how he is rescuing his daughter from the rival gang is the crux of the film.
Produced by Kalaipuli S. Thanu who reveled in a function that the distribution rights of Kabali for US are sold for a whopping Rs.8.5 crores, a price which is unheard for a south Indian movie.The Budget of this film is around 80 Crores.
Kabali was wrapped up recently and the post-production is in full swing.
The film is also being dubbed in Telugu and will be releasing along with the Tamil version.
Kabali is Rajnikanth’s 159th film. Before this Rajini’s previous avatar as a don was in the hit movie Baasha.
The film also has Radhika Apte, Attakathi Dinesh, Kalaiarasan and many others in important roles. Santosh Narayanan has composed the music.
