The much-awaited 35-second teaser of  Rajinikanth-starrer Kaala which was supposed to surface online on Thursday has been postponed by a day.

Actor-Producer Dhanush who is bankrolling the project took to Twitter to announce that the teaser release has been postponed to March 2 due to the demise of Kanchi Shankaracharya, Jayaendra Saraswati.

Sharing the news and a new poster of the film, Dhanush tweeted, 

Directed by Pa Ranjith, who has reunited with Rajinikanth after Kabali, the film features Rajinikanth in the role of a slum lord turned gangster.

Expectations on the album of Kaala is quite high since the first look posters was released.The film features Rajinikanth fighting for the rights of oppressed Tamils in Mumbai. It will apparently have a very strong political angle and will address the issue of oppressed Tamils.

Initially, the film had courted controversy with the adopted son of Mumbai don late Haji Mastan, who had alleged that the plot was based on his father's life. The makers had, however, denied it.

The film has a bevy of stars in the star cast including Huma Qureshi, Samuthirakani, Anjali Patil, Nana Patekar, Sukanya, Eswari Rao, and Sayaji Shinde in the star cast.

The film will hit theatres on April 27, Some sources hint that the project might also be released in Hindi as it has dialogues in Hindi and Marathi and is predominantly shot in Mumbai.

Actor Dhanush's Wunderbar Films is producing the film and Santhosh Narayanan is its music director. It will be released in Hindi and Telugu as well. Murali G is cranking the camera, Santhosh Narayanan is scoring the music, while national award-winning Sreekar Prasad will take care of editing.
