In a reshuffle of the state’s Indian Police Service (IPS), several Karnataka-cadre IPS officers were promoted and eight of them were transferred according to a notification passed on Monday. Sonawane Rishikesh Bhagawan who was the Assistant Superintendent of Police of Bantwal is the new SP of Anti-corruption Bureau in Bengaluru. Similarly, Nagesh DL serving as ASP of Sirsi will be the new SP of CID in Bengaluru.

HS Revanna, IPS (Karnataka batch of 2001), Deputy Inspector General of Police, Police Fire Services, Bengaluru is promoted to officiate in the grade of Inspector General of Police and was posted as Inspector General of Police, Northern Range in Belagavi. He will be succeeded by 2005-batch officer BR Ravikanthe Gowda who was until now posted as Superintendent of Police, Dakshina Kannada in Mangaluru. Ravikanthe Gowda will be replaced by 2014-batch officer BM Lakshmi Prasad who was posted as Superintendent of Police, Internal Security Division (CCT-Centre for Counter Terrorism) in Bengaluru.

2005-batch officer Abhishek Goyal who was posted as Joint Director of Enforcement, Kochi was promoted to the grade of Deputy Inspector General of Police. Similarly, his batchmate,  Kaushlendra Kumar posted as Joint Deputy Director (SP Level) Intelligence Bureau, Union Ministry of Home Affairs, New Delhi was promoted to the grade of Deputy Inspector General of Police.

Another 2005-batch officer R Dileep posted as superintendent of Police, Intelligence (Security) Bengaluru is promoted to officiate in the grade of Deputy Inspector General of Police as Deputy Inspector General of Police, Headquarters, Bengaluru in the existing vacancy. Similarly, SN Siddaramappa, IPS (Karnataka batch of 2005), Superintendent of Police, Internal Security Division, Bengaluru is promoted to officiate as Deputy Inspector General of Police, Internal Security Division, Bengaluru in the existing vacancy.

His existing position will be succeeded by Lokesh Bharamappa Jagalasar currently serving as Kalaburagi 'A' subdivision ASP.

Raman Gupta, also of the 2005 batch, currently posted as Joint Director of Enforcement, Enforcement Directorate, Bengaluru was given promotion to officiate in the grade of Deputy Inspector General of Police.

Chandragupta currently serving as Superintendent of Police, Criminal Investigation Department, Bengaluru will continue in his existing position but will be promoted to officiate in the Selection Grade until further orders. Like Chandragupta, K Thiyagarajan, Superintendent of Police, Karnataka Lokayukta, Bengaluru is promoted to officiate in the Selection Grade in the same post until further orders.

2015-batch officer who was posted as Assistant Superintendent of Police of Mysuru Rural will be promoted to SP rank in the Anti-Naxal force in Karkala, coastal Karnataka.
