Twitter increased its character limit to 280 from 140 on Wednesday. And while this might save you the extra time trying to find that one character to erase to make your tweet fit, many people were not entirely pleased.
Some wanted the good old, non-verbose Twitter back. Others thought that it would just give more space to trolls online, as more length does not certainly more increased clarity of thought and detail.
Some of the best reactions, however, came in the form of witty jokes and memes.

Can't believe Twitter increased Tweet limit to #280Characters just to allow Shankar Mahadevan to write 'Koi jo mila to mujhe' in one tweet.

There were many who said that they would gladly exchange the increased character limit for an Edit button.
Honestly, I'd much rather have a damn edit button. #280characters

Hey @twitter, you know #280characters can just be two tweets without changing anything, right? How about an edit button though?

Better expression or more verbosity? What do you think about the increased character limit?
