 The Jammu and Kashmir police on Friday, sought directions from a local court to block Facebook pages that upload photographs of militants. This move came as a particular photograph of Hizbul Mujahideen militants posing with their automatic rifles, did the rounds on social media.According to an Indian Express report, all the militants were already on the Kashmir police's radar and the police are yet to establish how these militants got together in one place for a meeting.Police have identified the militants in the picture with the main cause of concern for them being the person in the centre, Hizbul Mujahideen commander Burhan Muzaffar Wani, a 21-year-old militant from Tral who is seen as the poster boy of the latest militancy forces in Kashmir. Wani who has a bounty of Rs one million on his head has been involved in several attacks on the forces and has often managed to decamp with ammunition making him an iconic figure among the region’s youth, a report in Scroll adds.The police also added that the rising number of militant photographs that are being circulated on social media could be an attempt to inspire more youngsters to join their cause.
