It’s been four months since the team of Velipadinte Pusthakam released the song Jimikki Kammal, which went viral in Kerala and beyond. The song spawned spin-offs, with college students, families and techies shaking a leg to the addictive tune.
And just when you thought the frenzy is dying, guess who’s the latest to join the Jimmiki Kammal fan club? A tweet from Bollywood actor Abhishek Bachchan proves that this sensational song with catchy lyrics is here to stay.
On Friday, much to the excitement of Malayalis, Abhishek tweeted that he is obsessed with the song Jimmiki Kammal with a hashtag that read #gottagetupandance. He also admitted in the tweet that he just cannot unplug himself from the song.

A delighted Shaan Rahman, who composed the song was on cloud nine after Junior Bachchan's tweet. He swiftly took to Facebook to share his excitement, saying he is at loss of words.
Jimmiki Kammal is a peppy number from Lal Jose’ Velipadinte Pusthakam starring Mohanlal in the lead role. Though the film garnered mixed reviews, the song became a phenomenon and had the audience in its grips. Everybody identified with the son who sings about his father who stole his mother's earring, and the mother who in turn downed her husband's bottle of brandy!
The song is composed by Shaan Rahman and sung by popular singer, actor and director Vineeth Sreenivasan, and lyrics by Anil Panachooran.
The song when hit the internet became an instant sensation and gathered for itself a whopping 52 million views and still counting.
