Incumbent Chief Minister Jayalalithaa, on Monday, filed her nomination from the RK Nagar constituency for the forthcoming assembly elections in the state in the presence of her long-time confidante Sasikala and other party supporters and amidst much fanfare.
According to the declaration of financial information made by the AIADMK supremo, her total taxable income for the financial year 2014-15 amounted to Rs 95,23,630. In 2009-10, she had declared her taxable income as amounting to Rs 15,39,030.
In the span of five years, the CM’s deposits in the banks grew by Rs 8,63,83,945, while her investments as a partner in various firms grew by Rs 27,33,65,450.
In the interim period between two elections, the value of her immovable assets also grew by Rs 33,72,43,790.
While in 2011 Jayalalithaa had Rs 25,000 in cash at hand, in 2016 that amount increased to Rs 41,000.
Her total assets amounted to Rs 113.73 crore. In her declaration for the 2015 by-poll in the RK Nagar constituency, her total assets amounted to Rs 117.13 crores, while in 2011, she had declared total assets of Rs 51.40 crores.
