The shooting of the Darshan starrer Roberrt, directed by Tharun Sudhir, has been progressing in Bengaluru at a brisk pace. The director had pointed out that he has penned the film not as a director but as Darshan’s fan, which means it will have all elements that the star’s fans would love to watch on the silver screen.

Joining the star cast of this flick is Tollywood star Jagapathi Babu, who plays the baddie in the film. The actor and the rest of the crew members of Roberrt paid their respects at the late film star and politician Ambareesh’s samadhi before joining the sets, we hear. Incidentally, Jagapathi Babu is not new to the Kannada film industry as he has acted in a couple of movies earlier.

According to industry reports, the film will feature Vinod Prabhakar, son of actor Tiger Prabhakar, in an important role. A photo of Vinod posing with Darshan on the sets of the film has gone viral, especially for Darshan’s new hairstyle. Incidentally, M Chandramouli, one of the dialogue writers for KGF: Chapter 1, is working with writer Rajshekar KL to pen the dialogues for Roberrt.

On the female lead in this film, there were reports that the former Miss World and Bollywood actor Aishwarya Rai will be starring opposite Darshan but it was later dismissed as rumours. The latest buzz is that Mehreen Pirzada is being considered for the role.

The shooting of this film began at the Kanteerava Studio in Bengaluru with a lot of fanfare. When this film was announced, it was revealed that Darshan’s character in it is named Roberrt but the director put an end to all guesswork and clarified that the character will have nothing to do with the star’s cameo role in Chowka. With the shooting of the film going as planned, we can expect its release later this year.
