Former SFI central committee member and present DYFI state committee member Chintha Jerome has hit out at her detractors stating that she will take legal action against those who misrepresented her online as a tippler. A picture of Chintha reportedly holding a cup of black tea was misrepresented as her drinking alcohol, and the picture has since gone viral online.
In the last few days, a Facebook post with the photo, claiming that she drinks alcohol and that the liquor policy would be changed if the LDF government comes to power has been doing the rounds.
Chintha has clarified to the media that it was a photograph taken during an interview by prominent journalist PK Sunil Nath for Kairali TV.
She also explained that in the interview video it was clearly visible that her mother brings two glasses of black tea. She alleged that Sangh Parivar groups were intentionally trying to defame her.
Chintha said that such campaigns have been conducted against her earlier too.
“I will give complaint against it; it had been repeated many times. They were provoked over my criticisms on RSS,” she said.
Chintha is known for her sharp criticisms against Sangh Parivar groups.
