The Italian Football Federation has donated two FIFA World cup T-shirts to the two Italian marines Massimiliano Latorre and Salvatore Girone who are currently in Indian custody for killing two fishermen from Kerala.

The T-shirts which has the names of the two sailors were shown to them by Italian defence minister Roberta Pinotti. Pinotti did a video conference with the marines who have been living in the Italian Embassy in New Delhi for many months.

The marines then reportedly thanked the Italian Football Federation for the honour and precious gift.

But it seems like this is not the first time the Italian marines have sent messages back home via video conferencing. On June 2,  Italy's Republic Day the two marines with others at the Embassy had addressed Italy and claimed their innocence. Watch video.

Reports on various Italian portals quote Salvatore Girone as saying,"We obeyed orders, and today we are still here. We kept a word to keep quiet and maintain Italy's honour. "

The Marine then said there should be dialogue between the two countries and their innocence must be proved. He insisted on their innocence and said, "We can scream loudly that we are innocent."
