Gautham Menon’s highly anticipated Dhruva Natchathiram, which was originally planned with Suriya and later with Jayam Ravi, was eventually bagged by Vikram and the project went on the floors earlier this year. Having wrapped up the US, Chennai and Coonoor schedule, the team will commence the latest schedule of the film in Slovenia, Europe from June 21. According to reliable sources, the team will shoot some important action sequences in the next two weeks.
It has already been reported that major portion of the film will be shot in the US, including Manhattan, New York and Los Angeles among other places. “The shoot had to be stopped as Vikram was obliged to complete his other project Sketch, and he couldn’t postpone it further. Hence, he requested Gautham to stall the shoot of their film till he wraps up his portion on Sketch,” a source said.
Dhruva Natchathiram, a spy thriller, marks the first-time collaboration of Vikram and Gautham. Harris Jayaraj has been roped in to compose music, while debutant Santhana Krishnan, son of Ravi K Chandran, will crank the camera.
Tipped to be the biggest film in Gautham Menon’s career, the film also stars Ritu Varma and Aishwarya Rajesh. Actor-filmmaker Parthiepan has been confirmed to play a pivotal role. The makers have kept the identity of the film’s antagonist a secret as they have roped in someone very unusual for the role.
