The Islamic State has done things a little differently this time with the release of its latest video.

This new video  titled 'Lend me your ears' shows British journalist John Cantlie, who has been captured by the Islamic State, engaging in a monologue and sending out a sending out a 'political message' to his government, according to the BBC.

Cantlie said in the video , "I am a prisoner . That I cannot deny. But seeing as that I have been abandoned by my government and my fate lies in the hands of the Islamic State, I have nothing to lose."

From the video, it looks like this clipping is the first of many videos to be released.

"Maybe I will, maybe I will die," he says.

He goes on to say that he will try to explain the truth as the western media drags the public 'back to the abyss of another war with the Islamic State'. He goes on to question why his government was keen on being involved in another war after 'two disastrous wars' in the past.

As he talks, he urges the public to listen to him over the next few programmes and 'be surprised what you learn'.
