Ritika Singh, who bagged special mention National award for her impeccable performance in R. Madhavan’s boxing drama Irudhi Suttru, might have bagged an important role in Ajith’s next outing, according to trusted sources.
Tentatively titled Thala 57, the project will be helmed by Siruthai Siva, who had previously worked with Ajith in Veeram and Vedalam. Anushka Shetty is most likely to team up with Ajith for the first time as his leading lady in the film, which will go on the floors from July, and will have music by Anirudh Ravichander.
Ritika is currently shooting for Kaaka Muttai director Manikandan’s film, Aaandavan Kattalai, with Vijay Sethupathi. In Thala 57, she’s said to be playing a pivotal role and will get to share screen space with Ajith. The makers, meanwhile, are finalizing the rest of the cast including the supporting cast and the rest of the technical crew.
The film, which will be produced by Satya Jyothi Films, will hit the screens during Pongal festival next year. Santhanam is also said to have bagged a plum role in the film, which is tipped to be a revenge drama.
