While Apple may continue to work on the sequel to its iPhone X with all the high-end features loaded, it is not stepping back from its conventional 4-4.5-inch iPhones now being sold under the SE tag. Accordingly, the next model, the iPhone SE 2 is likely to be announced to coincide with the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) in June this year.

Some details of this device have now been leaked and they seem to be in variance with the earlier rumors about this particular phone from the Apple stable.

The report indicates the iPhone SE 2 will sport a 4.2-inch display and will have a bezel-less display and even the notch that one sees on the front screen of the iPhone X. The rumor talks about the smartphone sporting an aluminum body.

Some of the earlier reports had held that the bezels, like the good old phones, would be very much present and there won’t be facial recognition feature, etc. The CPU will be Apple’s A10 chipset that is fitted on the iPhone 7. The new device is expected to have 2GB RAM and 32GB internal storage. A second variant, with 128GB internal storage is also being predicted. There will be a Touch ID fingerprint sensor integrated with the main Home button.

Some of the specs and features of the impending release of the iPhone SE 2 doing the rounds online earlier had also claimed that the phone will have a glass back panel like it is on the iPhone 8, 8 Plus and iPhone X. The battery is likely to be 1700mAh in capacity and the cameras 12MP and 5MP in the rear and front respectively.

Since these leaks have occurred through Chinese sources, the price of the new iPhone SE 2 is being indicated as 4000 Yuan or CNY, which roughly converts to Rs 40,000.
