The News Minute | December 11, 2014 | 12:54 pm ISTOn Wednesday, Instagram announced on their blog website that they currently have more than 300 million instagrammers on their photo app. According to the blog over 70 million photographs and videos are being shared every day on Instagram. According to a report on Techcrunch, Instagram has officially outpaced Twitter which had 284 million users six weeks ago. The photo app which now features additional functions like People tab and Explore page and highlights important accounts to follow seems similar to the way Twitter works. They also plan to introduce verification badges which will help validate accounts belonging to celebrities, athletes, brands thus making it easier for fans to follow their favourites.Other social media platforms which boast a high number of users are Facebook with 1.35 billion users, Messengers with 500 million users and Whatsapp with 600 million users, says the report.
