A Swedish man was deboarded from his flight at Hyderabad's Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) on Friday after he refused to cooperate with authorities in an inebriated state and reportedly under the influence of drugs as well.

"Today one passenger by name Vetterstedt Seger, a Swedish national, travelled in Indigo flight from Goa to Hyderabad. After reaching the flight in Hyderabad, all the passengers de-boarded from the flight. Later, the crew noticed that one passenger remained in the aircraft," the police said in a statement.

According to reports, Seger stayed locked up in the lavatory of the flight 6E-744 and authorities were reportedly forced to break open the door, following which Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel took him away.

The Coimbatore-bound flight later left for its destination without him.

As the security personnel found him to be in an intoxicated state, he was handed over to the RGI Airport Police. He was shifted to the Osmania General Hospital in the city, but reportedly attempted to create a ruckus there too.

Police said, "There (at the hospital) also he did not cooperate with the staff of the hospital and tried to escape by removing his clothes and also threatened police and hospital staff by behaving inappropriately."

"We are doing our best to provide all possible treatment facilities to him. We will continue to provide him with treatment,” OGH Superintendent Dr B Nagender was quoted as saying.

He was later shifted to the Erragadda Institute of Mental Health, as the officials suspected he had some mental health issues as well.
