After the raids at the houses of the producers of Puli, actor Vijay, Samantha and Nayantara, undisclosed assets worth Rs 100 crore have been detected by the income tax officials, according to media reports.

A senior I-T investigator told The Times of India, “We are still receiving more details about the tax evasion as an outcome of the raids,“ a senior I-T investigator said. “We have seized property deeds, mutual fund documents and other assets from them.”

An amount of Rs 2 crore and gold worth Rs 2 crore were seized in the raid from the actors’ and producer’s properties.

Talking about the raids which began one day before the movie Puli released, the IT officials said they had received information that the producers of the movie had crores of unaccounted cash in their possession. The raids were carried out in the houses of `Puli' producers P T Selvakumar and Shibu Thameens, producer `Kalipuli' S Thanu along with financiers `Madurai' Anbu and Ramesh.

Inspections were carried out at 35 places in three states.

The raids were conducted in Vijay’s house at Neelankarai in Chennai, Samantha's houses in Pallavaram and in Hyderabad and Nayanthara's houses in Tiruvalla and Thiruvananthapuram.

The theatres screening Puli in Kerala and Tamil Nadu had to stop their morning shows yesterday as the producers could not release funds. Later, they resumed screening of Puli after the payment issues were settled.
