Adithyan is quitting”This was a Facebook post by the man known as the 'doctor for the masses', 36 year old Dr Shanavas just two days ago. (Shanavas used to call himself Aadhityan)The doctor well known for his social work among the tribals in Kerala, has died following a heart attack on Friday.He died in his car while traveling from Kozhikode to Malappuram.Shanavas had started to work among the tribals while he was an assistant surgeon at a rural health centre. Active in Facebook, he conducted campaigns to help the tribals and used to collect money from Facebook groups for social activitiesHis recent face book posts reveal that he was disturbed over his official transfers which he contested were illegal.On February 12 he wrote on his Facebook wall that he was troubled because of this.Those close to Shanavas had alleged that private hospital owners were not happy with him, as his services were posing a challenge to them. Shanavas also had a case going on in High Court related to his transfersHis post on the same day of his death says that he was tensed and was really troubled by the authorities.“Before completing the 3rd year here, though my own district had vacancy, they transferred me to a different district....completely unlawful...just within 3 months from Palakkad am transferred to Shiruruvani forest regions which a clear example of human rights violation...rivals are big sharks but they can’t defeat truth and justice...let the war for truth carry on in high court...only truth will win...only truth should win, because truth is the god. ...the ruthless hands behind my transfers are cowards because they know Adithyan has the evidences to that reveal their secrets, when time comes i will reveal it in public...and they dont know that i love forests and mountains...Dear tribal community of Shiruvani I am coming with the things you needed....hereafter you won’t starve...Adithyan's next trip is to Shiruvani..........Feeling tensed” he wrote on FB on Friday morningA change.org petition started some months ago said, "This is to bring to your notice regarding an unethical transfer order issued to Mr. Shanavas P C who is currently working as Assistant Surgeon in Kerala Health Services at Community Health Centre, Chungathara. He was posted at the said location in the month of November 2012. As per the order EA2-3200/14/DHS dtd 21/10/2014, he got transferred to PHC Kanjirappuzha, Palakkadu district with immediate effect. As we understood, an officer shall be transferred to any other station only after the completion of 3 years. In his case, he just completed 2 years only.
