In another shocking murder in Hyderabad, a man allegedly killed his wife and two kids on Monday morning.

The murder took place in Jillelguda of Meerpet, Hyderabad. The victims were strangulated, said Meerpet police. They have been identified as 35-year-old Jyothi and her two kids, Abhijeet (6) and Sahasra (4).

Speaking to TNM, Sub-Inspector Raghavendra Reddy said, “The accused is absconding. The investigation is going on. We believe the reason behind the killing is that he was facing a financial crisis.”

Harinder was working as a dental technician in Malakpet and lost his job recently, police said.

Meerpet Inspector Madhu Sudhan said that Jyothi and her kids were killed at 4 am.

A neighbour claimed that Harinder called him and asked him to go with him to the police station at around 8 am, confessing to the crime. On hearing this, he purportedly called the police, but Harinder left his house and is now absconding.

The police is still gathering evidence, with the help of a dog squad and a clues team. The Assistant Commissioner of Police also visited the spot, and the police told TNM that the investigation is underway.

Madhu Sudhan told NTV that Harinder and Jyothi got married eight years ago and had a seemingly normal marriage. However, when Harinder lost his job 20 days ago, the family was plunged into a financial crisis.

Just five days ago, Hyderabad’s Gautaminagar saw a similar crime, when the estranged husband killed his wife, mother-in-law and daughter.

The arrested accused Madhu allegedly killed his wife by bludgeoning her to death and then killed his mother-in-law and daughter with poison.

Madhu’s wife, Aparna, learnt about his first marriage, which he had hidden from her, and had been staying with her mother.

Madhu, who went into hiding after the crime but was tracked down the police, reportedly confessed to the murder.
