Gesture control smartwatch maker Hug Innovations has launched ‘Hug Elan’, the world’s first IoT-enabled fitness tracker on Tuesday.

Launched in Hyderabad by Telangana IT Minsiter KT Rama Rao, Hug Elan is a multi-sport fitness tracker that has intelligent sports detection to recognize the sport or activity the wearer is doing.

The GPS-enabled fitness tracker has a 0.96 OLED display with touch key operation and is water resistant with an IP66 certification. It has features such as all-day activity recording, heart rate tracking, breathing guide, auto sleep tracking, sedentary alert, call alert, notification alert, music control and weather alert. It also lets you take a picture via its remote capture feature.

Being IoT-enabled, the fitness tracker has the ability to monitor a user’s health, wellbeing and lifestyle habits and gives intelligent personalized recommendations.

The USP of the tracker is its 65 mAh battery, which lasts up to 10 days. Once discharged, it takes 1-2 hours to charge back to full capacity. Raj Neravati, founder of Hug Innovations claims that this is the longest battery life a fitness tracker has.

Hug Elan will be available commercially from Diwali on Amazon. It comes in five colours and is priced at Rs 4,999.

This fitness tracker is the third device launched by Hug Innovations. Its first device was Hug Smartwatch, a gesture-control smartwatch – first of its kind – launched last year.  Hug smartwatch comes with Contextual Intelligence that instinctively understands the intent of your actions, be it to turn up the music, dim the lights, play console games, switch presentation slides, or fly a drone using just hand gestures. It can also send out SOS signals using hand gestures. These devices are manufactures by Foxconn.

The second product from Hug’s stable is a smart kids tracker that it developed for Eurokids called Eurokids Mybuddy Smart Locator.
