The News Minute | December 27, 2014 | 8:10 am IST Union Minister for Human Resources Development Smiti Irani is likely to visit Visakhapatnam for inspecting land proposed for an Indian Institute of Management (IIM) on January 5. According to a report in the Times of India, 323 acres of land has been identified in the Gambheeram village of Anandapuram Mandal by the district administration and already inspected by a high-level committee. District collector N Yuvraj said that the land which is near the outskirts of Vizag will have a compound wall constructed around it by the Visakhapatnam Urban Development Authority. (VUDA) Smriti Irani is likely to visit the site after interacting with local officials who are currently engaged in evicting people from the proposed land that has been encroached. The IIM however, may start its academic session from Andhra University after the state university offered IIM its campus and senior faculty till a permanent campus is built. Tweet
