How much would the population of a 'Facebook nation' be?

If it were to be granted the status of a country, Facebook would have the largest population with 1.44 billion active users on the website. The number of people on the social networking platform would trump the population of China (1. 4 billion) and India (1.25 billion).Surprisingly, or maybe not, a report in The Daily Dot mentions that India has only 8.25% of its population hooked on to the social media site and although 31 countries lead us in terms of percentages, we are second in terms of pure numbers.Countries in the lighter shade of green have a lower percentage of people on the website:Image Courtesy: iStrategyLabsThe United States of America features second in both numbers and percentages with 56.45% of the country contributing 180million to the ‘Facebook Nation’. The United Kingdom leads the table, with 56.48% percent of users which number 36million users on the site.Image Courtesy: iStrategyLabsiStrategyLabs has the dope on the Facebook numbers database and four out of the ten countries topping the list with maximum percentage of Facebook users are from South America. Argentina, Columbia, Brazil and Mexico feature in the top ten and if India looks over her shoulder, the nation immediately behind is Pakistan at 7.24% users.Image Courtesy: iStrategyLabsIn India, Facebook have launched internet.org, a platform which seeks to provide certain websites for free. The company has introduced similar services in other developing countries including countries in Africa.  The initiative is called a philanthropic exercise by Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg who says the aim of the platform is to propagate the internet.
