The Kerala police on Monday arrested another person for making derogatory remarks about Hanan Hamid, a 19-year-old Kerala student on various social media platforms.

Talking to TNM, Senior Civil Police Officer (CPO), Girish Kumar of the Palarivattom police station said, “Siyad, who is 20 years old, was taken into custody from his workplace in Cherthala on Monday morning. He was interrogated at the station, following which an arrest was recorded.”

Siyad has been produced at the Magistrate Court following his arrest.

A report by News18 stated that the police had found screenshots of the derogatory comments made by Siyad on Facebook, following which he was taken into custody.

Siyad is the second person to be arrested for unleashing cyber attacks on Hanan.

The Kerala Police had arrested a man named Noorudeen Sheikh on Saturday, who is alleged to have been the key tormentor of the young college girl.

Sheikh was booked under various sections of the IT Act, besides provisions attracting non-bailable offences.

Even though Sheikh himself had once taken a selfie with Hanan, he questioned her story when he saw her pictures with Mohanlal.

Soon Sheikh's post went viral and Hamid was slammed as "a fake” and doing all she did only to impress superstar Mohanlal in order to land a role with his son Pranav Mohanlal in an upcoming film.

Hanan Hamid, a graduate student of Chemistry came into the limelight after she was spotted selling fish in her college uniform by reporters from Mathrubhumi, following which a story on her was featured on the paper.

The story showed Hanan in her college uniform and a plastic cap, selling fish in the Palarivattom–Thammanam junction in Kochi. The news did the rounds on social media and Hanan went viral.

Following this, channels hounded her, and several users applauded the girl for her grit and attitude to life.

Once this story started going viral, a certain section of social media users started accusing the media house for doing this story just to gain attention.

Many even said that this act of selling fish by Hanan is staged just for her to be on the news as they feel that she could not have been poor like how she is claiming to be because she was wearing a gold ring on her fingers.
