Filmmaker Gautham Vasudev Menon was supposed to team up with actor Vijay for a project titled Yohaan many years ago. For various reasons unknown, the highly anticipated project never took off and was eventually shelved.

The latest update is Gautham has revived the project with actor Varun, who was recently seen in Tamil adult comedy Puppy. Tipped to be a highly action-packed story of a bodyguard, the film is said to be titled Joshua: Koolipadai.

Apparently, he has already completed shooting the first schedule of the project which is being bankrolled by Vels Films International. The film will be shot on a lavish budget and will be centered on a bodyguard who is handed over the responsibility of looking after a high profile woman who travels to Chennai from London.

An official announcement on Joshua can be expected to be made very soon. Meanwhile, Gautham awaits the release of Dhanush starrer Enai Noki Paayum Thota. The film is finally expected to hit the screens in November.

The project marks the first-time collaboration of Dhanush and Menon. Meanwhile, there are reports that Suriya and Gautham are set to reunite soon. A few years ago, both of them were supposed to team up for a project titled Dhruva Natchathiram, which the latter went on to make with Vikram and is due for release soon.

When Suriya opted out of Dhruva Natchathiram just weeks before the project was scheduled to go on the floors, it affected his relationship with Gautham and both were not on talking terms for a long time.

In a recent media interaction, while promoting his upcoming release Enai Noki Paayum Thotta, Gautham confirmed that a project with Suriya is in the offing. However, he refused to divulge more details as he felt it should come from the makers. Apparently, Gautham flew to London where Lyca is headquartered to finalise things on the project. If everything goes as planned, the film will take off early next year.
