Actor Priyanka Arul Mohan, who recently made her acting debut with Nani’s Gang Leader, is all set to foray into Tamil industry with Sivakarthikeyan’s upcoming project with director Nelson of Kolamavu Kokila fame.
The actor hails from Chennai and is fluent in Tamil. While the project will go on the floors only next year, Priyanka has already been signed as the makers were very particular they wanted a heroine who could speak Tamil fluently.
Apparently, it was Sivakarthikeyan who read one of her interviews in a Tamil magazine and recommended her to the director who was immediately impressed when he met her. It is yet unknown what kind of role will Priyanka be playing in the film which will mark the first time collaboration between Siva and Nelson.
Sivakarthikeyan, who is basking in the great response for his latest release Namma Veettu Pillai, will soon resume shooting for his upcoming yet-untitled science-fiction Tamil film with director Ravikumar. Tipped to be an alien invasion comedy, the film also stars Rakul Preet Singh.
Not long ago, rumours emerged that Sivakarthikeyan might produce the project. However, he recently clarified in a media interaction that he didn’t take over the project but has agreed to shoot without remuneration as the film has been delayed on the floors for a long time. "The shoot has been delayed for some unavoidable reasons. I also got busy with my other commitments and couldn’t focus completely on this project. We still have about 25-30 days of shoot left. I’ve assured Ravi that I’ll complete shooting for the project very reason. I’ve also decided to forego my salary for the sake of the project,” Sivakarthikeyan had said.
Sivakarthikeyan is currently juggling between three projects. Having recently begun shooting for PS Mithran’s Hero, which marks the Tamil debut of Kalyani Priyadarshan he also has a project with director Siva in the pipeline and if everything goes as planned, this yet-untitled film will go on the floors from December or early next year. He also has a film with Vignesh Shivn in the pipeline.
