"Yen bulbul maathadakilwa"
With this one dialogue and a memorable performance, Ambareesh entered the hearts of Kannada film audience, acting in the 1972 film Nagarahavu alongside another debutant Vishnuvardhan.
The dialogue now stands etched in the memory of his fans who have revered the veteran actor during his film career spanning over four decades with 200 films. The actor's career saw a meteoric rise in the industry in the 1980's and 90's. Over the years, Ambareesh has remained friends with people across film industries in India. Late actor Vishnuvardhan, Rajinikanth and many others were his close friends.
And as the veteran actor and parliamentarian passed away on Saturday, his friends and well-wishers from the film industry mourned the loss of a friend, a guide and a rebel star.
A wonderful human being ... my best friend ... I have lost you today and will miss you ... Rest In Peace #Ambrish
