Several television personalities, friends and family members of TV actress Pratyusha Banerjee, who allegedly committed suicide, bid a tearful adieu to her on Saturday.
The 24-year-old actress, who shot to fame with her role as Anandi in TV show "Balika Vadhu", was found hanging from the ceiling at her flat Friday evening.
Pratyusha's last rites were performed at Oshiwara crematorium in Mumbai around 6 pm.
Pratyusha's mother was inconsolable and she kept saying, "I don't know why my daughter did this."
Reportedly, Pratyusha had been dating producer Rahul Raj Singh. According to reports, she was facing problems in her relationship with Singh.
Statements by her friends and close ones have only further thickened the mystery.
Rohit Verma
Designer Rohit Verma claimed that Pratyusha had recently called him and had even planned to order a wedding dress.
Speaking to Times of India, he said:
She was very happy and wanted me to plan her wedding dress. She asked me what kind of dress would I plan for her and I told her an ornate dress in coral and gold would be just right for her. And she was quite pleased with the colour scheme. I asked her whether she had set a date and she told me 'It's a surprise. I haven't told anyone yet. But I want to be ready for the occasion....She said that she would come to my store in the first week of April to look at some of the wedding dresses, as she was caught up with some work.
Dolly Bindra
Actress Dolly Bindra also spoke to ABP News outside the hospital where Pratyusha's body was taken and alleged that Pratyusha had 'sindoor' on her forehead.

Kamya Punjabi
Actress Kamya Punjabi and a close friend of Pratyusha while addressing the media said:
We don’t know whether it is suicide or not. But there were injury marks on her nose and cheeks. Now whether is it is suicide or not is something that police will disclose.Her relationship was not good. She was going through a very rough patch in her life. She had distanced us away from her owing to her troubled relation (with Rahul).There is not even an iota of truth. Your Balika Vadhu was happy and nice to everyone. She was doing very well and Vikas Gupta had also offered her a show.
Ajaz Khan
The former Big Boss contestant set off a storm told ANI, “I don’t think its suicide. I think its planned murder.”
Banerjee was a participant in reality shows "Bigg Boss 7" and "Jhalak Dikhla Jha"
She was also seen in "Sasural Simar Ka", another popular TV series aired on Colors channel. Her last TV show was "Hum Hain Naa".
