The earthquake that struck Nepal on April 28 with a magnitude of 7.4 has left the country devastated. With World Heritage sites destroyed and deadly avalanches around Mount Everest, the death toll is on the rise and rescue operations are underway.

Here are five videos that captured the intensity of the earthquake and the damage it caused.

1) This video was captured by a CCTV camera at a border inspection station in Gyirong in Tibet.

2) On Saturday, 'The Nepali Pranksters,' a popular YouTube channel were shooting an episode for their web comedy series the earthquake struck. In an 18 minute video, they managed to capture the immediate aftershock of the quake.


3) This video, taken by Jost Kobusch, a German climber, films the avalanche at the base camp of mount Everest.

4) This video footage shows large cracks that opened up in a Kathmandu road, with people in shock and disbelief as they try to grasp the entire incident.

5) This drone footage reveals the significant amount of damage done as a result of many buildings collapsing and captures the aftermath as people come out on to the streets
