Composer-actor Vijay Antony is pushing the boundaries in terms of content as well as marketing. His Pichaikkaran promotional video just before the release of the film earlier this year was a viral sensation and he has continued the trend with his upcoming film, Saithan, which is slated for an early December release. On Thursday evening, in a very bold move, the first ten minutes of Saithan was released online, much to the amazement of the audience and the entire industry.
Giving us a quick glimpse into the film and Vijay Antony’s character, the video stirs up anticipation like no Tamil film in the same league has in the recent past. Directed by Pradeep Krishnamurthy, the debutant filmmaker in a statement recently revealed that he was in awe of Vijay’s performance in the film. “Every great story requires a great actor who can justify it. Being an actor isn’t merely about photocopying expressions and dialogues given in the script, rather a life has to be given to that role. In that case, I was stunned by Vijay Antony’s acting,” he said.
