It has been quite long since Facebook users started demanding an ‘unlike’ button, in addition to the like button as it failed to convey the emotions regarding a particular post.

Recognising this desire, Mark Zuckerberg, co-founder and the man behind Facebook announced that they are finally working on improving the ‘like’ button while speaking at a Q&A at Facebook in Menlo Park Town Hall in mid-September.

However, he clearly nullified the possibility of just a dislike button saying, “We didn’t want to just build a Dislike button because we don’t want to turn Facebook into a forum where people are voting up or down on people’s posts.”

On Thursday, Zuckerberg announced via his Facebook profile that they are testing six new options in addition to the existing ‘like’ button as an emoji response to a post in Spain and Ireland before finally rolling out elsewhere in the globe while improving certain aspects of it.

The new options which will appear as a pop-up in addition to the thumbs up are:

1) Love

2) Haha

3) Yay

4) Wow

5) Sad

6) Angry
