Former Forest Minister Jogu Ramanna who went incommunicado for two days appeared before the media on Wednesday and said that he was hospitalised as his blood pressure shot up after being denied a cabinet post. The MLA said that he was availing treatment in Hyderabad.

The Adilabad MLA broke down as he was addressing the media in Adilabad and said that he was disappointed at not being given a cabinet berth.

Telangana Today quoted him as saying, “I was expecting a post during the expansion, but it didn’t happen. I was upset and was admitted to a hospital because of high blood pressure. Doctors advised me not to meet anyone for two days. It is not wrong to hope for a ministerial berth after being a clean elected representative.”

Further, Ramanna dismissed reports of joining the BJP. "KCR is my leader. I am not joining any party," The New Indian Express quoted him as saying.

According to reports, one person identified as Prashanth Wagmore, a staunch follower of Ramanna, tried to immolate himself over his leader not being made a minister.

Ramanna appealed to his supporters not to stage any protests, and said that he would continue with the TRS.

Meanwhile, former Home Minister Nayani Narasimha Reddy, made a U-turn on his remarks against KCR after not making it to the cabinet. Reddy accused the media of blowing up a 'small' remark. "I spoke very little with the media during a chit chat. But they gave wide publicity to my comments. All is well within the TRS," Reddy justified.

Earlier, Reddy had accused Chief Minister KCR of going back on his promise and not inducting him in the cabinet.
