You would have heard it enough times by now. By now part of colloquial conversations in Tamil Nadu, no matter how many times you come across it, one cannot help but crack up on hearing this quirky-sounding dialogue - "Ennama Ippadi panreengale ma" Apart from the memes galore on social media, the dialogue has made its way into Kollywood and not just restricted to the usual rib-cracking jokes on comedy shows. Featured in 2015 horror release Darling movie starring composer GV Prakash Kumar, it also found itself in the song format in the upcoming movie Rajini Murugan starring Sivakarthikeyan. But how did this dialogue suddenly spring out of nowhere? It all began with a serious show hosted by TV anchor, director and actor, Lakshmy Ramakrishnaan’s Solvathellam Unmai, a reality show which doubles as a family court where interpersonal problems, marital issues etc are discussed and solved. Apart from the realities of life discussed, Lakshmy was well-known for her famous antics - including her exasperation at the people interviewed on the show which revealed itself in the form of various dialogues. In jumped Vijay TV's ’s Adhu Idhu Yedhu with their segment Siricha Pochi famous for its attempts at making competetitve contestants laugh with their comedy stints. What did they do? In one such episode, the team of the segment "Siricha Pochi" conducted a spoof of Lakshmy's show - and there came a show of epic proportions and the birth of the newly reborn dialogue “Ennama ippdi panreengale ma”. While the trolling has gone on unstoppable, Lakshmy Ramakrishnan on the other hand in an interview to Vikatan put on a brave face ( very appreciable considering the generous memes) and said that Vijay TV had made her very popular by taking her on. The only mistake she says (in jest) that she made was mouthing those dialogue in one of her shows. Added bonus in her benefit: Her sportive attitude despite all the trolling.
