The shooting of the much-anticipated Mohanlal film Odiyan has been wrapped up and it is now in the post production stage. The film’s director VA Shrikumar Menon has revealed that the dubbing process is currently on. He had tweeted: “Marathon dubbing for odiyan . Almost 16 hours non stop … uff.. very satisfying hence not feeling tired even at this hour .. odiyan power !! #odiyan rising. God bless.”

Earlier, there were reports about the trailer of Odiyan being attached to Ranam but the director had quashed it as rumours. He set it right with the tweet: “Dear friends , Odiyan trailer will be released only in the month of October. This tweet is to end speculations regarding the trailer release in sept. Keep praying for the team Odiyan. Post prdn work in full swing.”

The film will mark the directorial debut of ad filmmaker VA Shreekumar Menon in the Malayalam film industry. It has actor Prakash Raj playing a pivotal role. Interestingly he is sharing screen space with Mohanlal after nearly two decades. The last time Mohanlal and Prakash Raj worked together was for the Mani Ratnam directorial Iruvar as MGR and Karunanidhi respectively.

Manju Warrier plays the female lead in this film and the rest of the star cast include Innocent, Siddique, Manoj Joshi, Nandhu, Narain, Kailash, Sreejaya Nair, Sana Althaf and Appani Sarath. The film is scripted by National Award winner K Hari Krishnan.

The shooting of Odiyan began last year and was wrapped up in April. There was a lot of talk at the time Mohanlal’s look for the film was revealed, comments coming on the actor’s slimmer version and different looking face.

The film also has a lot of VFX work, which is being handled by Bollywood actor Ajay Devgn’s NY VFXWAALA.

Odiyan, which is currently in the post production stage, is all set for a massive release on October 11th this year.
