Days after a Doordarshan newsreader was sacked for confusing the Chinese president Mr Xi’s name with the Roman numeral XI and reading it as ‘Eleven Jinping' on air, reports of another faux pas by the broadcasting organisation has just surfaced.
According to a report by India Today, Doordarshan aired visuals of former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh instead of Narendra Modi before a news segment relating to his current visit to the United States.
The report also adds that 'Sources said that the "inadvertent error" happened in one of the late evening bulletins yesterday when Doordarshan News carried Singh's visual instead Modi before introducing news-stories related to the Prime Minister's US visit'.
Doordarshan officials are said to be looking into the matter.
