The Dileep starrer Ramaleela was initially touted to hit the silver screens on July 7 this year but due to some delay in the post production, the release was postponed to July 21. Thereafter, he was arrested on July 10 and the film’s release plans had to be put on the back burner. When Dileep’s bail plea came up for hearing a couple of days ago, there were reports that the film would hit the marquee for Onam. However, the bail application was denied by the High Court which meant he would have to stay in jail for some more days. It may be mentioned that he was arrested in connection with an actor’s abduction and sexual assault case.
On Ramaleela’s release, its producer Tomichan Mulakuppadam is reported to have said that it would happen after talks with various film associations. Adding that it was not scheduled to release for Onam as reported by a section of the media, Tomichan Mulakuppadam said that he might consider having it released after the Onam season is over.
In an interview to SouthLive, the producer said that he will have to discuss about Ramaleela’s release with the representatives of various film associations before fixing the date of release. He added that he hoped for the film to release soon.
Directed by Arun Gopy and written by Sachy, the film has Dileep playing the lead role with Prayaga Martin as his lead pair.
