Ajith has completed 25 years in the film industry! Well, this is not a mean achievement considering the fact that he did not have a film background or a Godfather to help him out. A self-made actor, Ajith had to struggle a lot to reach the position where he is now. Every director, producer, actor and technician who has had the opportunity to work with the Thala has nothing but kind words to share about him.

Having made his debut in an uncredited role in En Veedu En Kanavar in 1990, Ajith was seen in the lead role in the Telugu movie Prema Pusthakam three years later. The same year, his maiden Tamil movie, Amaravathi also hit the silver screens. He went on to star in movies such as Aasai, Kadhal Kottai, Kadhal Mannan, Vaali, Amarkalam, Kandukondain Kandukondain, Billa, Mankatha, Veeram, etc. He is currently busy with Vivegam which is slated for release on August 24.

With the Thala celebrating his silver jubilee year in the film industry, his colleagues took to social networking sites to wish and congratulate him.

Here are some of the tweets:

Actor Dhanush wrote: #AK25 ... thank you Ajith sir .. for inspiring us as an actor and as a human being. Wishing u all the peace and success. #salute #selfmade

Director Siva, who had directed Ajith in Veeram, Vedhalam and Vivegam tweeted: “Director Siva- Sai sai my respect and regards for thala Ajith Sir on 25 years in cinema, honest sincere humble great person, true inspiration thank u sir.”
