Dear Modi, did the egg come before the chicken? Hilarious spoofs of Arnab's promo videos

Republic TV has been actively promoting itself on its social media accounts, and the face of most of these promotions is news anchor and journalist Arnab Goswami.

Known for his confrontational style and opinions, many of the promotional tweets have videos starring Arnab, penning letters to some prominent politicians, warning them of his inevitable return to the big screen. The videos are signed off by a "See you soon!"

Here's one of the promo videos.

Video jockey Jose Covaco, known for his wit and spoofs on social media, took these videos and added another twist to them. Using the same visuals, he has created two videos–one addressed to singer Sonu Nigam over the Azaan controversy and one addressed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The latter has the faux Arnab asking Modi some "tough" questions such as--who came first, chicken or the egg and if Sonam Gupta is indeed "bewafa" (unfaithful).

Watch it here:

And the spoof directed to Sonu Nigam only makes a veiled reference to the Azaan controversy and focuses instead on how to maintain his haircut (the singer had recently shaved his head). “The only loudspeaker who shouldn’t be banned is me,” says the faux Arnab.

However, a few people did fall prey to this spoof, believing them to be messages from the real Arnab.

Jose isn’t the only one who’s spoofed these videos, which are accompanied by the hashtag ‘Arnab With You Soon’. Twinkle Khanna, columnistauthor and married to Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar, also posted this video on Twitter.

And then there was this guy, who would probably have liked Arnab to write to Katappa.

And here’s one more person, waiting for Arnab’s next letter.
