Cricket legends Sachin Tendulkar and Shane Warne are reportedly planning on starting a new international T20 tournament which will feature former international players.According to a report in The Guardian, the duo has offered contracts to 28 former players worth $30,000 (Rs 19,05,973) per match in the tournament which is called the Cricket All-Stars League.Several big-name players like Brett Lee, Ricky Ponting, Glenn McGrath, Adam Gilchrist, Jacques Kallis and Andrew Flintoff have been reportedly approached.The report mentions that neither Cricket Australia nor the International Cricket Council has any knowledge of the proposed tournament but Lee’s manager Neil Maxwell has confirmed that his client had been approached and was considering the offer.“I can’t see anything wrong with it, it’s a group of retired blokes playing a game of cricket,” Maxwell was quoted by Fox Sports as saying.The new league may affect the IPL and the Australian Big Bash League as several former players play for franchises in the two tournaments.Lee had played in the BBL along with Flintoff and Kallis.Reportedly, the new league will have a series of matches around the world across a three-and-a-half year period.
