CPM State General Secretary Tammineni Veerabhadram wrote a letter to actor-politician Pawan Kalyan on Monday expressing CPM’s interest in joining hands in Telangana, the Jana Sena party stated.

“Communist parties are already in collaboration with Jana Sena in Andhra Pradesh to fight for resolving public issues. As advised by Pawan Kalyan, Political Affairs Committee (PAC) held a meeting in Hyderabad to discuss about the letter. PAC members held a long discussion and decided to hold a face to face meeting with CPM leaders in the light of wide spread speculation of early elections in Telangana,” Jana Sena said in a statement.

“PAC stated that it needs more clarity to decide whether the alignment would be restricted to fighting for resolving public issues or it would go on to contest in upcoming elections to state Assembly. PAC has decided to invite CPM Leaders to Jana Sena party office in Hyderabad. After the meeting, PAC will submit a report to Pawan Kalyan,” the party added.

It was in March this year, that Pawan Kalyan's Jana Sena Party joined hands with the Left parties—CPI and CPI(M) and attacked both the ruling and the Opposition party in Andhra Pradesh, for being compliant during the ‘injustice’ meted out to the state by the Centre.

In a press release, Pawan Kalyan said, “TDP is always behaving in a compromising manner and we can’t trust them anymore. They changed their words many times. AP people lost so much because of TDP’s compromising nature. YSRCP’s response has also been minimal in this matter.”

In April this year, the Jana Sena party along with Left parties like the CPM and CPI conducted a 'padayatra' or foot march, to protest the Centre's 'betrayal' in granting Special Category Status (SCS) to Andhra Pradesh.

"We are considering the conspiracy of not taking the no-confidence motion forward in Lok Sabha as conspiracy against the Andhra Pradesh people. BJP's negligence of responsibility to conduct the Lok Sabha proceedings properly is reckoned as a danger to democracy," the Jana Sena party said in a press release at the time.
