Wahab was a member of the Rajya Sabha from 2004 to 2010.League Minister P K Kunhalikutty told media that the decision was taken after proper procedures and discussions.Earlier reports had suggested that there was tussle within the party regarding the candidature. The Rajya Sabha seat obtained now is a recognition for working honestly for the party. The mistakes pointed out will be seen positively,” he added.
