Seemingly under pressure from the changing political dynamics of the stated, the CPI (M) has been expressing their concerns over the growth of third front in Kerala, more so over the possible BJP-SNDP alliance has also become crucial for the Left parties in Kerala.

“BJP needs social organisations like SNDP as a shield for its communal politics. RSS is focusing on Kerala and trying to emulate the UP model. It is appropriating caste organisations and pumping money. Irony is Congress can be managed. Ideologically, Congress and BJP can swap places,” CPI(M) MP K N Balagopal told The Times of India.

He also said that growth of right-wing politics will be the main discussion topic in the party plenum in coming December.

CPI(M) has reportedly agree that they face threat from BJP’s growth in the state, which was ruled only by LDF and UDF till now.

CPI(M) leaders who flay SNDP has been alleging that the latter act contradictory towards their ideologies by joining hands with BJP.

“Philosophy of SNDP is against communalism and upper caste hegemony. How can they cohabit?” asked politburo member S Ramachandran Pillai according to TOI.
