TNCC president EVKS Elangovan on Saturday urged former alliance partner TMC to re-join the DMK-led alliance for the forthcoming May 16 elections.
The Congress leader said, “I request TMC members to come back to Congress, since, this is your home.”
Referring to the incident about TMC leader GK Vasan holding talks with BJP, EKVS said it ‘hurts’ as “It (BJP) is the party which killed Mahatma Gandhi”.
On the issue of candidate list, he said the Congress will release it candidate list on April 15 or April 16.
The party will contest 41 seats in the Tamil Nadu Assembly polls after senior Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad and DMK president M Karunanidhi reached an agreement following their meeting on April 9.
Aravakurichi constituency
On Saturday, EVKS also warned party’s senior cadre from Aravakurichi, Jothimani, of strict action if she tried to defy the party’s decision and urged her to focus on ensuring victory for the DMK candidate.
EVKS said, “Constituencies are being finalized now after a few round of talks and Aravakurichi is been given to DMK since they have won there before.”
It's Jaya style
Taking a jibe against the incumbent AIADMK, EVKS said “it’s Jaya style” to make multiple changes to the party candidate list.
