The News Minute | April 10, 2015 | 1.30 pm IST After seeking help from the public to procure items for the Kuthiravattom Mental hospital, Kozhikode district collector N Prashanth has once again taken to Facebook asking public participation. He has launched a unique campaign ‘Trimoothri Photo Contest’ to discourage people from urinating in public places – as this is a common sight across the city. As per the campaign, he has asked people to post photographs of anyone urinating in public. He has also announced a prize named ‘Thrimoothri’ for the best three photographs. He has posted two photographs of Muffosil bus stand along with the post. “This is the Muffosil bus stand. Though the natives cleaned it the other day, fire force is again cleaning it as the urine smell is unbearable. There is a public toilet nearby, still people pee in the open place. You can post your ideas of how to use this place effectively. So if you see someone urinating here anymore, you can click pictures and post it here. The best three pictures will be awarded with ‘Thrimoothri’ prize,” he wrote. Earlier Prashanth had initiated a crowdfunding to help a government mental institution through his Facebook post which was a success. He had written that the sight in the hospital was a painful one and that patients there were living under wretched conditions. According to hospital authorities they had got good response as a result of collector’s post.
