Tollywood megastar Chiranjeevi is gearing up to play the legendary freedom fighter Uyyalawada Narasimha Rao in his biopic.
The project was announced several months ago but the shooting is yet to commence, which is giving rise to various speculations and doubts.
According to latest reports, Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy is slated to go on the floors in December this year and the film is touted to release around Sankranti in 2019.
On the film’s progress, we hear that Vijay Sethupathi and Nasser, who have bagged pivotal roles to play in the movie, have undergone a ‘look test’ to ensure that they are suitable for the roles. A photo shoot of both these actors with complete makeup and costumes happened recently to measure their suitability for the roles.
Recently, Chiranjeevi participated in a test shoot which took place in Hyderabad. With Chiranjeevi in complete getup, a small sequence was shot, edited and a small amount of VFX was applied and Chiranjeevi is reportedly totally content with the look and the sequence.
To be directed by Surender Reddy, the film is produced by Chiranjeevi’s son Ram Charan Teja on their home banner Konidela Production Company. While the ‘Megastar’ plays the title role in this biopic, the star cast is highly impressive comprising of Amitabh Bachchan, Nayanthara, Pragya Jaiswal, Vijay Sethupathi, Sudeep and Jagapathi Babu.
The Oscar-winning music composer AR Rahman has been signed up to compose music for this flick with S Ravi Varman for cinematography.
It may be mentioned here that Chiranjeevi made a comeback with Khaidi No: 150 earlier this year after a gap of 10 years and the film went on to become a big hit. Expectations were high on his 151st film when the announcement came in that it would be a biopic on the legendary freedom fighter.
With a confirmation from Chiranjeevi himself during an interaction with fans that Sye Raa would be Sankranti release in 2019, movie buffs need to wait for one more year to see him in action on the silver screens.
