Ever since it was announced that Nani’s next film in the pipeline is titled Gang Leader, netizens, particularly mega star Chiranjeevi’s fans, have been discussing the suitability of the title for a Nani starrer. Gang Leader is the title of one of the biggest hits that had Chiranjeevi as its main lead, therefore, his fans feel that it should be used for his son Ram Charan Teja’s film.

Despite a big round of discussion going on in the social media, looks like the makers of Nani’s film will be retaining the title. Of course, Nani’s fans are happy over the title announcement and are waiting eagerly for more news on this Vikram Kumar directorial. The team is still scouting for a suitable female lead to pair up with Nani in Gang Leader and an official word on it is expected to be out soon.

In the meantime, Nani is expecting the release of his first ever sports drama Jersey. The film is being bankrolled by Suryadevara Naga Vamsi under the banner of Sithara Entertainments and helmed by director Gowtam Tinnanuri. It will have Anirudh composing the tunes, Navin Nooli in charge of the editing and Sanu Varghese cranking the camera. Jersey has Nani and Shraddha Srinath playing the lead pair with Sathyaraj, Brahmaji and Ronit Kamra in supporting roles.

The shooting of Jersey is currently under progress and it is reaching the final stages. The post production will begin soon and plans are on to release it on April 19. It may be noted here that the first look poster of Jersey, released in September last year, made it clear that it is a film about cricket. The jersey hanging in a cupboard along with the cricket gear around it did go viral among the netizens upping the expectation levels.
